Reverend Hezekiah Lewis, age 82, passed away Friday, October 15, 2010 in Big Spring, Texas.

He was born May 8, 1928 in Ruston, Louisiana to Hamon Lewis and Mary Goree Lewis. He was an active leader in church and a part of the military services.

He married Annie Williams and from their union they had four children, Hezekiah Lewis Jr., LaVinda Kennedy, Shelia Lewis Peritro and Derrick Grant Lewis, and their God daughter Betty Wallace Montgomery.

He later married the LOVE of his life, Mildred Wallace and affectingly called her BABY They shared a union for 30 years impacting and teaching the word of GOD around the United States.

He leaves to cherish his memory his Loving wife Mildred Lewis his children his brothers: Amos and George Lewis his sisters Letty Volky and Christell Thompson, both of Houston his sistersinlaw, Dessie Mae Lewis and Francis Lewis his Goddaughter Betty WallaceMontgomery thirteen grandchildren, a great granddaughter, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Proceeding him in death were his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Hamon Lewis, four sisters, Jessie Robinson, Mildred Beck, Ethel Beck Mildred, Ruby Jemiman and one son, Derrick Lewis, brothers, Mason and Hamon Lewis.

Visitation with the family will be 68 PM Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Friday, October 22, 2010 at United Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Seagraves, Texas with Pastor Julius Brooks officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa.
