Richard Harris

Richard Ray Harris, age 83, of Odessa, TX, passed away on June 27, 2015 in Midland, TX.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Funeral home.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Al Workman of Crossroads Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Richard was born in Hatch, NM, to Ray and Audrey Harris on January 20, 1932. He attended schools in Guymon, OK. He was a long time resident of Odessa and was owner/operator of Richard Harris Trucking Company for many years. He served in the United States Army and was a professional photographer.

His parents, Ray and Audrey Harris, precede Richard in death.

He is survived by his stepson, Vincente Santiago and his spouse Ciarra; son, Michael Harris and his spouse Vicki; daughter, Brenda Bentley and her husband Ron; brothers, Don Harris and his wife Karen, Dan Harris; sister, Peggy Searcy and her husband John; grandchildren, Jennifer Bridgeman, Chris Harris, Joseph Bentley and Adam Bentley.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Bentley, Rolan Bailey, Chris Bailey, Ron (Pee Wee) Joy, Valentin Soto and Tony Manriquez. Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Bentley and Sammy Green.

If desired the family requests that memorials in Richard's honor be made to the American Heart Association. They also would like to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at Midland Memorial Hospital.
