Richard Witte

Richard Orr Witte, age 81, of Odessa, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 in Odessa.

He was born January 23, 1932 in Vivian, Texas to Frank Witte, Sr. and Mary Ray Witte. He moved to Odessa in 1952 where he met and married Mary Ruth Weatherford. He was in welding supply. He worked for local businesses before becoming owneroperator of Basin Welding Supply. Later he sold the business and began working for Odessa Welding Supply which later became Airgas. He retired six years ago. He enjoyed Reading, and repairing welding machinery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Ruth, and his brother, Frank Witte, Jr.

Survivors include his sons, Michael Ray Witte and wife LouAnn of San Antonio, Richard James Witte and wife Dianna Lyn of Odessa and Donald Eugene Witte, also of Odessa.

Visitation with the family will be 68 PM Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery
