Richard (Rick) Kenneth Rinker, age 66, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021.
He was born in Anchorage, AK to Earlie and Lloyd Rinker. He graduated from Killeen High School and then enlisted in the Army. Rick met his wife of almost 40 years, Debra (Deby) Gayle Dupuy Rinker while stationed in Darmstadt, Germany. He left the Army in the early ‘80s and started a lifelong career in the oilfield patch in companies including Ortloff, Hess, and OXY.
He passed away at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX after a short illness. He will be remembered as a hard worker, avid golfer, loving husband, caring father, and “Papa”. He served his lord in congregations in Seminole, and Odessa, TX. While he has gone home to be with his Lord and Deby, he has left us too early.
Rick is survived by his son, Nicholas Rinker and his wife Suzanne of Phoenix, AZ; his daughter, Katie Ann of Odessa, TX and her fiancé Jake Boren of Andrews, TX; his grandchildren, Caroline Cox, and Ty Rinker; his brother-in-law, Richard (Dick) Allison; and nephew, Wade Allison of Odessa, TX; as well as a host of extend family and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deby Rinker and his parents and siblings. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Rick’s memory to the West Texas Food Bank.
