Rita and Charles were married for 60 years. The loves of their lives. Rita left high school to marry Charles, but later got her GED and then her Associate's Degree in Nursing. She worked in labor and delivery for many years and started the first Lamaze classes in Odessa. Later she worked in nursing homes and became a state surveyor. As a surveyor she felt it was important to teach the staff and encourage them to give the residents the very best care. She never thought any part of the care was beneath her from cleaning up after people to exceptional nursing care. She finished her nursing career doing hospice care. She said she loved helping bring life into the world and felt honored to be there as they departed this world.
Rita was a wonderful momma and mamaw. She was dearly loved by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had recently become a great great mamaw.
