Robert Lee Evans, age 75, of Odessa, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 at The Hospice House in Odessa after a lengthy illness.
Robert Lee Evans was born on October 23, 1937 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Charles Robert Evans and Freida Campbell Evans. He moved to Terminal, Texas in 1946. He graduated from Midland High School in 1955. He attended Odessa College and was in the marine reserves for 6 years. Robert married Nancy Lee Butler in Odessa on June 12, 1959. He retired from Motion Equipment in 2002 after 15 years of service. He was employed by ECISD for the past several years as a coachs aide serving at Gonzales and Alamo Elementary, retiring in November 2012 from Alamo.
Robert was an avid bowler, stock car racer, motorcycle rider, mechanic and electrician, along with many other talents.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sharon Pyle.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Evans sons, Cameron Evans and James R. Evans, both of Odessa brother, Burt Evans of Midland, Texas a grandson, Nicholas Evans Cox of Miles, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: Eddie Tucker, Justin Young, Jonathan Beck, Joe Tidwell, Berto Mata, Chris Pro Timothy Moran.
Honorary pallbearers: Doug Pyle Jason Tidwell.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday, December 24, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Duckett officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
