Robert Friday

Robert Thomas Friday, 86, of Odessa passed away Saturday, November 26, 2011 in Odessa.

Bob was born on March 26, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri to Jesse Thomas and Helen Wolfram Friday.

Bob attended Westminster University and Missouri University where he was a member of Beta Theta Phi fraternity. He was also a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. He was an Army Air Corps veteran.

In 1950 he embarked in the insurance and real estate business along with his two childhood friends Roger Donk and Barton White. They formed the company Friday, White and Donk.

Bob had many joys in life. He loved golfing, fishing, hunting, traveling and most of all his family.

He is preceded by his parents, Jesse Thomas and Helen Wolfram Friday, and his sister Dorothy Marie Friday, all of St. Louis, Missouri.

Bob is survived by his wife, Paula Barthell Friday of Odessa children Patti and Mike Langford of Odessa, Bob and Ann Friday of Odessa, Ann and Ron Crabtree of Aledo, TX, and Frank Friday of Fort Worth, TX his grandchildren Jennifer and Carrick Carpenter of Medfield, MA, Katie and Brad Seidler of Fort Worth, TX, Robert Friday III of St. Louis, MO, Matthew Friday of Dallas, TX, Juliann Friday of Bakersfield, CA, Ryan Crabtree of Dallas, TX, Suzanne Crabtree of Dallas, TX, David Crabtree of Dallas, TX, Cullen Friday of Fort Worth, TX and Caroline Friday of Fort Worth, TX great grandchildren Karris Carpenter and Gavin Carpenter of Medfield, MA and sister Margie Young of St. Louis, MO.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 28, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home from 68 p.m. A service will be held the following day on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Mark Woodruff officiating in the Sunset Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Thomas Crabtree, Robert Thomas Friday III, Matthew Cullen Friday, David Cullen Crabtree, John Cullen Friday and Gavin Carpenter.

In lieu of flowers make donations to Home Hospice of Odessa andor St. Marys Catholic School.
