Robert Goran

Robert Miles Goran of Midland, TX, passed away suddenly at his home on September 24, 2009. He was 65. He was born in the Bronx, N.Y., on December 29, 1943. Bob graduated from Yonkers High School and married Barbara Sally Mirin on August 4, 1965.

Together with his older brother, Michael, Bob launched a photofinishing business in Yonkers that operated for several years. They went on to own and operate several video rental stores in the Westchester County, N.Y. area.

In the meantime, Bob and Barbara settled in Pound Ridge, N.Y., where they raised two children: Vickie and Ken.

In 1999 Bob and Barbara moved to Boynton Beach, FL where Bob continued his interest in photography, working for Ritz Camera. Six years later the couple relocated to Surprise, AZ where they began retirement life together. In 2007 Bob and Barbara moved to Midland, TX to be closer to their family.

In addition to photography, Bobs favorite pastimes were playing his baby grand piano, learning new skills on the computer, and following his beloved New York Yankees. He also had an affinity for cats, but most of all he adored his family, who sorely miss him.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Midland, children, Vickie Brunk of San Diego and Ken Goran of Midland; grandchild, Miles Goran of Midland, and his brother Michael of Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

Burial will be Sunday, September 27, 2009 at 2:30 P.M. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 6801 E. Hwy 80, Odessa, TX.
