Robert Hernandez, age 71, of Odessa, passed away on June 17, 2014 at his residence in Odessa, Tx.

Dear God,

We are giving you back your angel. He maybe a little broken, a little scratched up, scarred up and walks with a limp. He is the one with the big heart. He has fought a good battle. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and provider. He taught us what it took to be men and women in this world, to walk with your head held high and to respect others. God, your angel awaits your call. Please be gentle with him.

Rosary will be at 6:00 PM on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church at 7601 N. Grandview with Reverend David Herrera officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Robert Hernandez was born on April 10, 1943 to Jose P. Hernandez and Rosa Deanda Hernandez in Odessa, Tx. He married Nora Villareal on August 20, 1960 in Odessa. He was the owner of Hernandez Body Shop in Odessa. He was a member of San Juan Catholic Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Rosa Hernandez.

He is survived by his loving wife Nora V. Hernandez, his sons Rudy and wife Sylvia Hernandez, Robert, Jr. and wife Mary Hernandez, Ismael and wife Delfina Hernandez, Michael and wife Maria Hernandez, Javier and wife Gracie Hernandez, daughter Nancy Vasquez, all of Odessa, sister Mary Rodriguez of Levelland, Tx., brother Jody Hernandez, of Edingburg, Texas, 19 grandchildren and 19 greatgrandchildren.

Pall bearers will be JR Hernandez, Fabian Hernandez, Randy Hernandez, Daniel Hernandez, Nicholas Hernandez and Gabriel Hernandez.
