Robert Nelson

Robert Alton Nelson was born August 3, 1949 in Odessa, Texas to Mary and Alton A. Nelson. He attended all twelve years in Odessa-ECISD-schools, graduating in 1967 from Odessa High School. At O.H.S. he competed on the track team and won an athletic scholarship to Odessa College and later to Wayland Baptist College in Plainview, Texas. He then received a scholarship to the University of Texas at El Paso, also in track and field. He received his B.S. in bio-chemistry and did graduate work there and at U.T.P.B. He returned to Odessa to continue his studies and to work with his father at Nelson Pharmacy. He worked there until his fathers retirement in 1984.

His parents preceded him in death, his father in 1992 and his mother in 2006.

He is survived by his sister, Susan Nelson Lippe and his nephew Alton Paul Lippe, and his great niece Xenia Vega and his great nephew Zahn Paul Lippe.

Services are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home and will be held at a later date.
