Robert Powell Jr.

Robert "Bobby" Burton Powell, Jr., age 84, of Odessa, TX left this Earth and walked into the arms of our Lord on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Medical Center Hospital.

Bobby was born September 28, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri to Robert and Edna Powell. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1949. He married Billie Joyce McGrew on March 30, 1952. They had two children, Robert Dwain and Denise Doreen. Over the years, Bobby held many jobs, finally retiring from the trucking industry.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Billie Joyce; son Robert Dwain Powell; daughter Denise Doreen Powell and grandson Dustin Jerome Powell.

He is survived by grandsons Dennis Christie of Atlanta, GA, Damien and wife Jennifer Christie of Odessa, TX, Derrick and his wife Jessica Prince of Kingsland, TX, and Chris Powell of Midland, TX. He had one great-granddaughter, Haley Christie

Graveside services are scheduled for Monday, June 1, 2015 at 4:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell, officiating.
