Robert Rollins

Robert Leroy Rollins, age 72, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 19, 2011 in Mansfield, Texas

He was born on April 12, 1939 in Oshkosh, Nebraska to the late Forrest and Viola Rollins. Bob graduated from Hotchkiss High School in Hotchkiss, Colorado in 1958. He joined the Air Force in 1959 and served for 4 years, with 13 months in Germany. On August 12, 1965 Bob married his high school sweetheart Sandra Stoddard. They were married for 32 years. She preceded him in death in August 1998.

Bob was a selfemployed weldermechanic and worked for many companies in Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Wyoming and Texas.

He was blessed to find love again when he married Mary Franklin in September 2000. He enjoyed retirement by traveling around in their travel trailer with the Good Sam Club.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife, Mary Franklin Rollins of Mansfield his daughters Roxanne Cartwright and her husband Hoss and Rhonda Thornton and her husband Jeff, all of Odessa. His son Ralph Rollins and his finacee, Michelle Machwart of Big Spring. His stepdaughters Teresa Vencil and her husband Greg of League City Belinda Curtis and her husband David of Arlington and Suzanne Franklin of Odessa. Three brothers: Larry Rollins of Colorado, Merle Rollins and Jay Rollins of Arizona and his sister Gail Acedo of Colorado. He is survived by his grandchildren: Stacey Stone, Christina Cherry, Heather Rutledge, Amanda Flynn, Cassie Thornton, Danielle Thornton, Robert Cartwright, Zachary Cartwright, Daniel Vencil, Chris Curtis, Timothy Vencil, Brittany Rainey, Abbey Zwaska, and Adam Vencil. He is also survived by 15 greatgrandchildren.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 68 pm at Sunset Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in the chapel at Sunset Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Serrano officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
