Robert Stout

Robert John Stout, age 70, of Odessa, TX, left to be with his Lord on November 8, 2015 in Odessa.

Robert was born in Oakland, California to Brady Hunter Stout and Edith Maude Stout on October 11, 1945. He went to high school in Odessa until entering the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 years old. He served 7 years In the Navy! While in the Navy he married Pat and they had one son, Robert Wayne. He then began his life long career as a truck driver and loved seeing all of America, traveling to almost all states. He enjoyed and was an avid and accomplished bowler in his younger years.

In January 1975 he met and married the love of his life, Billie Jean Horton. Robert and Billie enjoyed many years of outdoor activities such as riding off-road ATV's, racing Motocross with his son Lynn, camping with family, hunting, but his true passion was Archery. He relished the fact that he helped one of his grandson's achieve much success winning the Texas Triple Crown.

Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jean Stout, Mother Edith and father Brady.

He is survived by his sons, Robert Wayne Mcmullen, Lynn Horton and James Horton, Daughters, Lawetta McElmurry and Sharon Baker, two sisters Karen Lea and Sondra Kaye, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9:00 am-8:00 pm Wednesday Nov. 11 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Odessa, TX, with Dennis Stout officiating. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
