Roberta "Birdie" Mcelroy

Roberta Jewel " Birdie" McElroy, age 64, passed away peacefully at home in Odessa, Texas, on February 4, 2022.

Birdie McElroy was born on October 23, 1957, in El Paso, Texas, to D.L. and Jewel McElroy. She was a graduate of Bel Air High School. Birdie is best remembered as a homemaker and an active member of her church. She loved to sing, and all who knew her could attest to her beautiful voice. She was a single mother who lived for her children and then for her grandchildren. She had a beautiful soul and was loved by all who knew her.

Birdie leaves behind her two sons: Daniel Ames, his wife Katherine Ames, and Andrew McElroy.

She is also survived by brother, Delbert McElroy; sisters, Patricia Bradsher, Linda Carver, and Dorothy McElroy; three nieces and five nephews; and grandchildren, Emily and Abagail Ames, Devlin, and Kaleigh McElroy.

Visitation for Birdie will be held from I0:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 19, with the funeral services starting at 1:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.

Friends and family are invited to Andrew McElroy's home at 11105 W. Hacienda Or. directly after the service for a celebration of life.
