Bob Garcia, 69, of Odessa, Texas, died on Thursday, March 31, 2022, due to heart issues. He was born on January 13, 1953, in El Paso, Texas, to Roberto V. Garcia and Guadalupe Garcia. Bob attended Yselta High School in El Paso and The University of Texas at El Paso, UTEP. Bob was a graduate of Texas School of Law. Bob was very generous in donating his time and resources to local charities.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr., and Mrs. Garcia; his sister, Cecilia Cuaron, and his nephew, Rick Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Garcia of Odessa, Texas; his sons Matthew Garcia, of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Lukas Garcia (Courtny), of Dallas, Texas; daughter Magdalena (Maggie) and Colt, of Dallas, Texas.

Bob’s love for life was once again renewed when he got to hold and cherish his grandkids, Crawford John Carlisle and Sebastian Oliver Garcia, THE LOVES OF HIS LIFE. His in-laws Helen and LC Davis, Odessa, Texas and Sue and Olen Bench, Pampa, Texas. He was blessed to have bonus kids in his life - Luis Paiva (Mandy Zander), Natalie Taylor, and Nathan Aguilar.

Bob’s sisters, Rebecca Garcia (Becky), of Albuquerque, New Mexico – forever, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU; Ester Eaton (Mark), Tucson, Arizona. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Together, he and his siblings created an inseparable, familial bond that Bob went on to do with own family. For his siblings, Bob was a loving and caring brother. For his nieces and nephews, he was a supporting and fun uncle.

On March 31, 2022, Bob was called home to join his father, mother, and sister in Heaven. His family was by his side until the end.

On October 8, 1988, he married the love of his life, his rock – Sherry Jo Bench. Together, they were a strong, resilient, and loving couple. They started and ran their own respective businesses, traveled, and grew deeper in love as the days went by. By each other’s side, they faced life together and built one another up. While accomplishing so much, their main priority was their children.

His children were his reason to live. Bob helped them navigate the world and always had his hand on their shoulders. And still does. Bob put in countless hours playing catch, coaching every sport, watching tv, going to the movies, and doing whatever his kids wanted to do. He never missed a game or opportunity with his children. His impact will last a lifetime.

Bob spent his last days loving his grandchildren. Showing his own children just how a grandfather can love so deeply. In Crawford, Sebbie, and future grandchildren, the next generations will know who Bob Garcia is.

Bob’s second love in life was the law. Bob Garcia, Jr. Attorney at Law loved to be in the courtroom. Advocating on behalf of others is what drove him every day. He was a zealous defender of his clients and was respected and loved amongst his peers in the bar and the greater legal community. He had many professional accolades and was honored to be asked to serve on various committees. Bob applied his compassionate personality, brilliance, grace, and humility to his law practice. Bob’s intellect was only surpassed by his wit and humor. He knew when to be serious. However, he possessed the ability to crack a joke while arguing to a jury and yet still advocate for his client.

Bob was a man of the Catholic faith. He carried his faith with him every day and applied his faith in raising his family and practicing law. In the end, his faith took him home. We rejoice knowing that he is walking the streets of gold, talking about his family on earth. His memorial was held on Saturday, April 2, 2022.

The family asks that you honor Bob by donating to the Permian Basin Rehab Center – 620 N. Alleghaney Ave. Odessa, Texas 79761. For even in the afterlife, Bob still wanted to help others.

He will be greatly missed by anyone who had the blessing of knowing him and loving him. We will be reunited in Heaven one day. We find peace knowing that.
