On March 31, 2022, Bob was called home to join his father, mother, and sister in Heaven. His family was by his side until the end.
On October 8, 1988, he married the love of his life, his rock – Sherry Jo Bench. Together, they were a strong, resilient, and loving couple. They started and ran their own respective businesses, traveled, and grew deeper in love as the days went by. By each other’s side, they faced life together and built one another up. While accomplishing so much, their main priority was their children.
His children were his reason to live. Bob helped them navigate the world and always had his hand on their shoulders. And still does. Bob put in countless hours playing catch, coaching every sport, watching tv, going to the movies, and doing whatever his kids wanted to do. He never missed a game or opportunity with his children. His impact will last a lifetime.
Bob spent his last days loving his grandchildren. Showing his own children just how a grandfather can love so deeply. In Crawford, Sebbie, and future grandchildren, the next generations will know who Bob Garcia is.
Bob’s second love in life was the law. Bob Garcia, Jr. Attorney at Law loved to be in the courtroom. Advocating on behalf of others is what drove him every day. He was a zealous defender of his clients and was respected and loved amongst his peers in the bar and the greater legal community. He had many professional accolades and was honored to be asked to serve on various committees. Bob applied his compassionate personality, brilliance, grace, and humility to his law practice. Bob’s intellect was only surpassed by his wit and humor. He knew when to be serious. However, he possessed the ability to crack a joke while arguing to a jury and yet still advocate for his client.
Bob was a man of the Catholic faith. He carried his faith with him every day and applied his faith in raising his family and practicing law. In the end, his faith took him home. We rejoice knowing that he is walking the streets of gold, talking about his family on earth. His memorial was held on Saturday, April 2, 2022.
The family asks that you honor Bob by donating to the Permian Basin Rehab Center – 620 N. Alleghaney Ave. Odessa, Texas 79761. For even in the afterlife, Bob still wanted to help others.
He will be greatly missed by anyone who had the blessing of knowing him and loving him. We will be reunited in Heaven one day. We find peace knowing that.
