Rodney Holley

Rodney Dale Holley, age 61, went to be with his Heavenly Father after a prolonged illness on September 6, 2014 at Medical Center Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 68 PM at Sunset Funeral Home.

Graveside Services will be on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 1 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Rodney was born in Odessa, TX on July 8, 1953 to William Buster and Evelyn Holley. He worked his entire career in the oilfield, starting as a gofer and working his way to become a master fisherman. During his spare time he loved being in the great outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially racing.

Rodney is preceded in death by his parents, William Buster and Evelyn Holley, brothers, Johnny and Darrell Holley and sister, Donna.

Rodney is survived by his daughters, Amy HolleySmith and husband Rick of Sweetwater, TX, Glenda HolleyCates and husband Matt of Odessa, TX, brothers, Ray and wife Mary Holley, Wayne Holley and Douglas Holley, all of Odessa. Grandbuddies, Derek Hodge, Adam Hodge, Justin Adkins, Eryn Smith, Aurora Cates, as well as several nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends.

Rodney was a devoted father to Amy and Glenda, as well as an extremely proud PaPaw of Derek, Adam, Justin, Eryn and Aurora. His world revolved around his Grandbuddies. It didnt matter how bad he was feeling, every time he saw his GrandBuddies he would always smile as they ran to give PaPaw a hug.

Memorials contributions may be made to the Adult Stem Cell Research through John Paul II Institute or to The Birthright of Odessa.
