Roland Sipes

Roland Dale Sipes, age 76, of Odessa, Texas, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Hospice House in Odessa, after a valiant battle with cancer.

Roland Dale was born November 5, 1934 in Slidell, Texas to Seiver Arnold and Annie Grethel Cearley Sipes.

Roland Dale was a simple man that loved life. His most precious treasure was his daughter, Dena. He was her 1 fan and biggest supporter in each and every accomplishment.

Dale and Dena were by each others side in what we call life. Only a dad knows the triumph that a beautiful daughter brings to his life. He loved her with all his heart and knew his Dena would be okay with family and friends by her side.

Dale never complained during his sickness. What he missed most was running his 4 or 5 miles a day. He now runs forever in Heaven. He will be missed by all who knew his gentle soul.

He was preceded in death by his parents one brother, Terrell Royce Sipes one sister, Patsy Ann Akers and one stepson, Stephen Paul Sipes.

Survivors include his daughter, Dena Sipes his grand dog, Shiloh stepson, Rick Sipes special nieces, Tonya Akers and Christine Dattos nephew Brian Akers Aunts, Burtis McKinney, Euvela Jones, Helen McKinney, Melba Jo Seigmund uncle, Jasper Bud Sipes Wilma Sipes Lehman, his one true love and mother of Dena five grandchildren who were always in his heart many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was also blessed with an extended family, Toni McDaniel and her boys.

Special thank you to Dr. Borra, nurses and staff at West Texas Cancer Center. Also, a heartfelt thank you for the love received from the angels at Hospice House. May God bless you abundantly.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 23, 2011 at Slidell Cemetery in Slidell, Texas.
