Romia Burleson

Romia I. Granny Burleson, 78, a longtime resident of Odessa, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at her residence surrounded by family and friends.

She was born February 8, 1935 in Amber, Oklahoma. She married J.C. Burleson on November 20, 1952 in Lovington, New Mexico. She was a woman of crafts. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, and mastery of Southern style cooking.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, J.C., her parents, Ed and Ethel McClain three brothers, two sisters soninlaw, Johnny Clark grandson, James Paul Brunner and granddaughter, Vanessa Burleson.

She is survived by three sons, Bill and Sue Burleson, Richard and Julia Burleson, Gayland and Cindy Burleson three daughters, Carol and Gary Campbell of Gulf Breeze, Florida LaVon and Philip Lewis and Lisa and Larry Brunner two brothers, Sammy McClain and Jerry McClain of Oklahoma four sisters, Louida LaGross of Louisiana, Louise Spoon, Mary Ethel Mann and Judy Larzalere, all of Oklahoma thirteen grandchildren, Stephanie and Jose Gardea, Kristy and Leroy Escontrias, Brian and Jenny Burleson, Justin Burleson, Michael Burleson, Larry Warren and Ashley Brunner, Misty and Tony Brooks, Kevin Clark, Troy Burleson and Brittany, Kelsey Campbell, Christopher Burleson, Alex and Allison Brunner, Cody Burleson and twelve great grandchildren, Raymond Escontrias, Dameon, Austin, Paige, Kaydience Brooks, Bradyn, Addisyn, Braylea, Jayci Burleson, Jaxon and Lily Brunner, and Miles Mancha.

Visitation will be 68 PM Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be her eleven grandsons.
