Ronald Hardwick

Ronald Samuel Hardwick, age 82, of Andrews, went to be with his heavenly father on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 in Andrews, Texas.

He was born on May 18, 1931 in Toronto, Canada. He was the second son of Harold Bennett and May Victoria Hardwick. He served in the Korean War where he received his US citizenship. Ron married Dora Imaree Owen which brought them three children Rhonda, Richard and Rena. He later married Wilma Helene Schmitto which also brought him three step children Norma, Linda and Paladin.

Ron was preceded in death by his childrens mother, Dora Imaree and his late wife Wilma his parents, Harold and May Hardwick his grandparents and step daughter, Linda Zambrano.

He is survived by his children, Rhonda Stanton and husband Clyde, Richard Hardwick and wife Cindy, both of Odessa, TX, Rena Black and husband Terry, of Andrews, TX step children, Paladin Schmitto of McCamey, TX and Norma of Dallas, TX ten grandchildren, Jessica Stanton and Rico Coon of Tecumseh, OK, Linda Morris and husband John, Eric Stanton and wife Maite, all of San Antonio, TX, Brandon Hardwick and wife Bobbi Jo, Brian Hardwick and wife Valerie, Brook Hardwick, Braeden and BreAnne Hardwick, all of Odessa, TX, Ryan Hardwick and Shawn Black, both of Andrews, TX five great grandchildren, Joe Garcia, Caydon Hardwick, Braxton Hardwick, Ebin Stanton and Rhylee Hardwick. He is also survived by one brother, Gordon Bud Hardwick of Ohio one niece and two nephews along with his best friends, Ken Wickcliff and Roger Dixon of Del Rio, TX.

Ron worked many years with Coors and later retired from Laughlin Air Force base of Del Rio, Texas. Ron will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

God saw him getting tired a cure was not to be.
He wrapped him in his loving arms and whispered Come with me.
He suffered much in silence, his spirit did not bend,
He faced his pain with courage, until the very end.
He tried so hard to stay with us but his fight was not in vain,
God took him to his loving home and freed him from the pain.

Visitations will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

There will be a funeral service for Ronald at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in the chapel with Johnny Touchstone officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
