Her birth was around the time of World War II. Her parents decided to enter her in a contest for beautiful babies. She took first place; her parents were so proud. She would enter several beautiful child contests while growing up, always taking a winning award.
They moved to Houston, Texas, during the war. Her father built Liberty ships and her mother was a phone operator. She would live in Crockett, Texas, and eventually Odessa, Texas.
In Odessa she attended school, eventually graduating from Odessa High School. She attended Odessa College taking basic subjects, then Abilene Christian University.
In the early 1960's, Ronda met and eventually married William Rayford Lyne. In 1963 she had her first child Caleista Laverne Lyne. In 1964 she had a son, John Eric Lyne, in Huntsville, Texas, where her husband attended Sam Houston State University. Her husband eventually attended The University of Texas. There Ronda lived in Austin, Texas, raising her children. In 1970 she moved back to live in Odessa, Texas, with her children, and parents until the present.
She attended The Church of Christ. More than one of the congregations in Odessa, 21st and Eisenhower for the longest.
Her daughter passed away several years ago from cancer. She is survived by her Granddaughters, Holly, and Erica; four great grandchildren, Melanie, Daisy, Alexis, and Ruby; son, John Lyne; and son-in-law, Jimmy Millican.
