Ronnie (Ron) Dee Ikeler December 2, 1942 - March 24, 2015

Ronnie (Ron) Ikeler, age 72, of Odessa, TX, passed away on March 24, 2015 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX.

Family visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday March 27, 2015 at Crossroads Fellowship. Pastor Griffin Jones will be officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Ronnie Dee Ikeler was born December 2, 1942 in Evansville, Indiana to Charles Edward and Leola Frances Ikeler. He moved to Odessa in 1948 where he attended Crockett Junior High, Odessa High School and Permian High School the year it opened. He joined the US Army December 2, 1959 and served for three years. After moving back to Odessa from New York he went to work for Safe Way where he met the love of his life, Revonda R. Bryant. They married December 7, 1963 in Odessa, TX. He worked at El Paso Products and Texas Auto Parts and started flight training to chase his dream of becoming a pilot. On November 17, 1966 he obtained his Private Pilot License and on February 21, 1968 obtained his Certification to become a flight instructor. This started his incredible career in the corporate aviation world. He started his career with the Elcor Corporation of Midland, Texas, then 11 years with Texaco, and retired from Cimarex Oil in 2008.

Ronnie had a passion for life and his joy was his family; his wife of 51 years, his children, grandchildren and his church. He was an avid golfer and most proud of his 6 "hole-in-ones". He loved being on the golf course with his son, son-in-law, grandsons and his golf buddies. He also enjoyed fishing and being on the lake. He lived an amazing life!

He is preceded in death by his father Charles Ikeler, mother Leola Hammer, step-father Jack Hammer, brother Denis Ikeler and granddaughter Ashley Kay Ikeler. He is survived by his wife Revonda Ikeler of Odessa, TX, son Ronnie Dee Ikeler and wife Sharon of Spring, TX, daughter Connie Davis and husband Blakke and daughter Sonja Seree Ikeler of Odessa, TX, sister, Charleen Jones and husband Olen, brother, Ricky Hammer and wife Tiffany, and sister-in-law, Janis Ikeler. His grandchildren Brittany Bethel, Brandy Johnson, Brittany Fowlkes and husband Nathan, Kayla Ikeler, Jordan Johnson and wife Brittney, Julie Chavez, Brance Davis, Chelsey Ikeler, Alexis Bilbrey and husband Eric, Blakke Seree Davis, Ashton Ikeler, Sara Chavez and great-grandchildren Kayden Bilbrey, Mia Johnson and Weston Fowlkes, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbears will be: John Davis, Ernie Crawford, Raymond Chavez, Wayne Scott, Bill Procter, Wayne Kennedy, Mike Stephans and David Barton.

The family of Ronnie Ikeler wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the medical staff at Medical Center Hospital for their care and compassion that they extend to us all.
