Ronnie Richardson

Ronnie Royce Richardson "Rockin R" age 55 went home to his Heavenly Father Thursday, February 9, 2017 in Odessa, Texas. Ronnie Royce was born to Virginia "Sissy" Richardson and Alton Richardson on December 13, 1961 in Big Springs, Texas.

He grew up in Odessa, raised by Bob and Sissy McClure and graduated from Odessa High School in 1980. He received a rodeo scholarship at Cisco College after his interest in roping. Ronnie Royce the "heeler" and his partner Gary Don McCain the "header won the USTRC West Texas Championships in 1998 and was featured on the cover of the Super Looper in 2000 for winning the USTRC North Texas Championship. After a back injury, Ronnie pursued a career as a salesman in the oil industry and started his own company, Rockin' R Gas Works in Granbury, Texas. He later sold his business and moved back home to Odessa, Texas.

Ronnie was a loving son to his surviving parents, Virginia "Sissy" McClure and Bob McClure, brother to Rhonda Krogh, father to daughters Candis "Kandy" Richardson, Amanda Gay Renfro and husband Jaret Renfro of Odessa, son Bryton Royce Richardson of Odessa and proud granddaddy to Nolan Anthony Marra (5) and Hope Emberleigh Marra (3) who thought the world of him. He is survived by wife Karolinda Cherry Richardson of Arlington, Texas.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his father Alton Richardson, paternal grandparents E.R. Richardson and Dee Scarborough and maternal grandparents Leo Smith and Birdie Smith and brother-in-law John Krogh.

Ronnie enjoyed many things in life; hunting, fishing, golf, roping but most of all he enjoyed time with his family and friends. He always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. He never met a stranger and enjoyed life to the fullest. His love and laughter was contagious and will be missed forever.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas. A Funeral service celebrating Ronnie's life will be held Wednesday February 15, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Crossroads Fellowship officiated by Minister Trey Johnson, Graveside services to follow.

Pallbearers: Close friends Gary Don McCain, Bruce McClendon, Tony Hooper, Tommy Pettit, Donnie Wilson, Johnny Morgan and Thomas Taylor. Honorary pallbearers: Johnny Kidd, Kenny Black, Rocky Anderson, Danny Otwell and Gary Bob Otwell.
