Rosa Vaughan

Rosa Lee Vaughan, 71 years old, born October 23, 1938, passed away Tuesday June 8, 2010, in her home.

Born and raised in Odessa, she attended Northside Baptist Church. Rosie spent many years in the retail, grocery business. In the 70s, she was an avid bowler and was part of State Championship Teams. She loved to cook and often invited her friends over to share in the new recipes she had found. You can always tell a lot about a person by the way they treat animals and she loved them all. Over the years she adopted many pets and people. She was loved by all whether in work or play and will be greatly missed.

She was preceeded in death by Mother and Father, LaTane and Buster Vaughan, and one brother, Richard Eugene Vaughan.

Survivors include one nephew Bryan Vaughan of Odessa, and two nieces Julie McKenzie of Phoenix, AZ and Lisa Benedict of Arendtsville, PA., all the Parson family and Dee Ann Saavedra and Donald Mayfield both of Odessa were two very close friends she claimed as her kids.

Visitation will be Thursday June 10, 2010 from 6 7 PM at Sunset Funeral Home. Services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, June11, 2010 in the Chapel of Sunset Funeral Home.
