Rosalee Renteria

Rosalee Renteria, 92, of Odessa, Texas, was born August 30, 1921 in Marathon, Texas at the Leary Ranch, passed away March 19, 2014, at her residence surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Rosa had been a resident of Sanderson, Texas for many years prior to moving to Odessa in the early 1970s.

Rosa was a homemaker, and had worked at Western Manor Nursing Center before retiring. She enjoyed crafting, baking sweets for her children, and spending time with her kids, and grandkids in her later years.

She is survived by four daughters, Adela Rodriguez and husband Daniel, and Emma Acosta of Odessa Mary L. Villarreal of Houston, Beatrice Carrasco of Roswell, New Mexico. Two sons, Oscar Villegas of Houston, and Ruben Abrego of Odessa , along with 20Grandkids, 32 Great Grandkids and 6 Great Great grandkids. She was preceded in death by her mother, Locadia Abrego and father, Luis Renteria.

A rosary will be 7:00 PM Friday, March 21, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Chapel. Funeral service to follow the rosary Friday evening at Sunset Memorial Chapel with Father Michael Rodriguez officiating.

Burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Marathon Cemetery in Marathon, Texas. Funeral arrangements will be under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Roddy Rodriguez, Paul Acosta, Steve Chalambaga, George Estrada, Chris Villegas and Joseph Abrego.
