Roy Brown Brownie Glasscock, 88, of Odessa, Texas passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013. He was born on May 10, 1925 to Stacy Pinkney and Dolly Stokes Glasscock in Sonora, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stacy and Dolly brothers, Jamie, Melvin and Hayden Chinky two sisters, Ernestine and Alma Lou and son, Keith Hardin. Brownie married Barbara Glasscock on April 7, 1962. They were married for 26 years until her death in 1988.
Brownie is survived by children, Roxie Garner and husband Mike of Poteau, Oklahoma, Johnny Glasscock and wife Teri of Desert Hot Springs, California, Sally Griffith and husband Buddy of Sumter, South Carolina, Roy Glasscock of Odessa, Texas, Teresa Ninov and husband Mike of Syracuse, Utah, Charlotte Tongate and husband Jim of Early, Texas, Kenneth Hardin of Odessa, Texas and Dixie Mercy and husband Jim of Cleburne, Texas 32 grandchildren and numerous great and even great, great grandchildren.
Brownie was a truck driver since he was a teenager and stopped driving trucks when he was 80 years old.
There will be a visitation for Brownie from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2013 in the Sunset chapel with Buddy Griffith officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
