Roy Jones

Roy Lee Jones, age 76, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2019, surrounded by family at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX following a brief illness.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral Services with Military Honors will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, February 1, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr, Randy Cotton and Reverend Herb McPherson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Roy was born September 22, 1942 to Lee Roy Jones and Ruby (Huitt) Nix in Big Spring, TX. In 1962, he married his wife, Quinett in Coahoma, TX, followed by proud service in the United States Navy during Vietnam.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry Jones.

Roy is survived by his loving wife of 56 wonderful years, Quinett; daughters, Tanya McGehee and her husband, James McGehee, Kristie Philbin and her husband, Patrick Philbin; grandchildren, Shelby McGehee, Matthew McGehee and Shannon Philbin; great grandson, Corbin McGehee; brothers, Bob Jones and his wife, Ruth, Carroll Jones, Weldon Nix and David Nix; sisters, Glenda Gremillion and her husband, Glenn and Wanda Byrd.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude for Roy's care to the nursing staff of ICU4 at Medical Center Hospital and to Home Hospice.
