Ruben Evaro

Ruben Aguilar Evaro, 54 passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Medical Center Hospital. Ruben was born in Odessa on October 16, 1954 and was a life-long resident of Odessa. He graduated from Ector High School, earned his Bachelors degree from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, and later earned his Masters degree from Sul Ross University. He married Graciela Ruiz in Odessa on August 2, 1980 at Our Lady of San Juan Catholic Church. Ruben was an employee of ECISD for over 20 years as a teacher and high school counselor. Previously he had worked as a teacher in Presidio, Fort Stockton, and Pyote, Texas. For the past two years Ruben had worked as a high school counselor in Van Horn, Texas.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-eight years, Graciela Ruiz Evaro; two sons, Juan Ruben Evaro, 27 and Patrick Evaro 25, his parents; Rodrigo and Marta Evaro all of Odessa. His brothers and sisters; Roy David Evaro and wife Carrie of Gahala, Ohio; Rodrigo Eduardo Evaro of Austin, Texas, Christopher Paul Evaro and wife Rosella of Pflugerville, Texas, Manuel and Lydia Evaro Madrigal of Midland, Henry and Kathy Evaro Rubio of Odessa, numerous nephews and nieces, and close friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Our Lady of San Juan Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Woodruff officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rosary services will be 6:30 PM Friday, January 23, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
