Ruben Mariscal

Ruben (Scotty) Ojeda Mariscal, 85, of Odessa passed away after a very short illness at his home surrounded by his family and peacefully joined his wife Manuela on Saturday, August 18, 2018 in Odessa.

Rosary will be Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Chapel.

Mass will be Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Ruben was born on April 30, 1933 in Mexico to Macario Mariscal Arredondo and Carlota Ojeda Mariscal. Later, Ruben moved to Pecos, TX and married the love of his life, Manuela Mariscal.
He was a jack-of-all-trades and retired as a business owner mechanic of Ruben's Repair Shop. Ruben was an active Catholic and participated in many groups and organizations over his life time. Ruben also had a green thumb and could grow a tree from a branch. He enjoyed gardening and providing for his family.

Ruben is preceded by his wife Manuela, his parents Macario and Carlota Mariscal, sisters Ines and Nena, grandchildren Paul and Nicole and great granddaughter Aaralyn.

Ruben is survived by his children Irma and her husband Gene Rodriguez of Odessa, Ruben Jr. and his wife Lydia of Odessa, Norma and her husband Gilbert Rodriguez of Odessa, Gracie and her husband Antonio Ortega of Pecos, Macario and is wife Latricia Mariscal of Odessa, Oscar and his wife Edna Mariscal of Dallas, Betty Mariscal of Odessa, Erika Lay of Odessa, and Sally Mariscal of Odessa, 20 grandchildren and too many great grandchildren to count.

Pallbearers will be Chris Renteria, Gene Rodriguez, Brandon Ortega, Gilbert Rodriguez, Jr., Ricky Brackeen, Jordan Brashear and Nathan Lopez.
