Ruth Hughes

Ruth E. Hughes, age 89, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011, in Midland.

She was born January 18, 1922 in Anson, Texas to William Benjamin Hollums and Minnie Pearl Spraberry. Ruth was raised in Anson, Texas, one of eleven children. She married Cecil Clyde Hughes January 7, 1941 in Anson. She resided with her family in Odessa, Texas from 1955 to 2005. She was a long time member of Second Baptist Church in Odessa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil C. Hughes.

She is survived by her daughter, Terry Ormand and husband Jerry of Dallas, Texas her sons, Randy Hughes and wife Betty and David Hughes and wife Suzanne, all of Midland grandchildren, Emily Howse and husband Trey of Dallas, Andrew Ormand and wife Anne, of Alexandra, Virginia, Kit Hughes and wife Megan of Midland, Heather Bredimus and husband Brandon Kit of Midland, Tracy Hughes of Midland and Matt Hughes of Midland great grandchildren, Olivia Howse of Dallas, and Jack and Logan Bredimus of Midland sisters, Mary Ellen Strickland of Midland and Katie Cannon and husband Ralph of Gadsden, Alabama brother, Jack Hollums and wife Rosemary of Midland and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, November 5, 2011 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
