Sadie Cox

Sadie Cox, age 93, of Odessa, TX, passed away on August 19, 2018 in Midland, TX.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Graveside Services will be at 9:00 AM, Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with a Memorial Service following at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 23, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Midland. Reverend Dr. Dee Woods and Pastor David Johnson will officiate.

Sadie was born July 5, 1925 to Jessie J. and Willie Irene Cox in Coleman, TX. She attended school in Novice, TX and graduated from Howard Payne University. After college she taught 3rd grade in Odessa for a few years before moving to Maryland, where she taught 3rd grade for around 30 years. She returned to Odessa after retirement and began traveling around the world. Sadie stated that she was in awe of the sights and places that God had allowed a little girl from Coleman, TX to see. She traveled all over the world and in fact had just gotten back from Iceland in March, before her health began to decline. She took her final and best trip on Sunday morning when she entered Heaven's gate.

Sadie is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie J. and Willie Irene Cox; brothers, J.T. Cox, Cecil Cox; sisters, Clara Preas, Luberta Preas and Veda Cox.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church in Midland.

The family of Sadie Cox would like to thank all the Doctors and nurses that cared for Sadie these last few months, especially the staff at Manor Park rehab unit and Pastors and friends from First Baptist Church in Midland.
