Salvador Ortega

We say good bye to our father, our grandpa, and our friend Salvador "Chava" Ortega, age 81, of Pecos Texas. Chava passed away on March 16, 2015 in Odessa Texas after a short illness.

A Rosary for Chava will be at 7pm Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass will be held at 2 pm on Friday March 20th at Holy Redeemer Church in Odessa Texas. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Salvador "Chava" Ortega was born on Christmas Day in 1933 to Francisco Ortega and Maria Gochicoa. Salvador grew up in Pecos, TX and served in the United States Army. He married the love of his life, Carmen Martinez Ortega who preceded him in death last year. Chava was a long time butcher in many supermarkets in Pecos and Odessa. He was an avid pool player and loved to have fun.

Salvador is survived by his 4 children and their spouses; Jose and Anna Marceleno, Joe Ortega, Marc and Nancy Briseno, Saul and Racheal Ortega ; 13 Grandchildren, Junior, Jessica, Sandra, Terry, Samuel, Fabian, Jody, Jess, Delfina, Troy, Pooh, Jordan, and Alyssa; numerous great grandchildren and other family members.

Pray for Chava to find peace and love in the Kingdom of God.
