Sandra Lee (Stuart) Ables

Sandra Lee Stuart was born November 1, 1946 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to parents Walter McKinley Stuart and Kathrine Viola Blue Stuart. She passed away at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas on December 23, 2015. She was 69 years old.

Sandra was the oldest of 8 children, and she helped raise her younger siblings after their mother died. She lived all over the United States, including Indiana, Maryland, Virginia, Mississippi, Eastland, Texas and Odessa, Texas. She graduated with honors from Eastland High School in 1965.

Sandra worked in the ECISD Food Service for 32 years before retiring in 2012. She made a lot of good friends during those years. Sandra became a supervisor and won several awards.

Sandra married Johnny L. Hall, Sr. in 1965. He died unexpectedly a few months later, but Sandra was blessed with their son, Johnny Hall, Jr., in 1966. In 1969, Sandra married Tommy Wayne Ables, and they were blessed with two daughters, Cora and Missy.

Sandra was all about family, often organizing get-togethers. She had a huge heart and welcomed everyone into her family. She was known to take in many family members and friends over the years, and they all thought of her as their "mom."

Sandra will be missed forever by her many friends and family. She is survived by her son, Johnny Hall, Jr., his wife, Becky and their children, Michael and Beth Atkins, of Odessa; daughters: Cora Ables, Cora's daughter, Katie Ables; and Missy Hiles, her husband, Terry, and their children, Drew Ables, Dustin Hiles, Chris Hiles, all of Odessa, and Krystal Lunsford, of Kentucky. She is also survived by her sisters: Linda Adams and Jane Burrow, and her husband, Louis, all of Odessa; Patty Kirkpatrick and her husband, Marty, of Big Spring; brothers: Randy Stuart, his wife, Lynne, and John Stuart, and his wife, Kellye, all of Odessa. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, three great-grandchildren and extended family.
