Sandra Kay Harris, 79, of Odessa, passed away April 1, 2015 in Odessa, Texas.
Sandra was born in Dallas, Texas on July 15, 1935 to wonderful, loving parents Herman and Stella Griffin.
Visitation will be on Sunday, April 5, 2015 from 5-7pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 6, 2015 at 10:00am in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Ferrell Ard, officiating.
Sandra Kay is preceded in death by her father Herman Griffin, mother Stella Griffin, son-in-law Dewayne Elrod I, and daughter Judy Kay Lightfoot.
Sandra Kay is survived by her husband Tommy Harris, son Wayne Harris and wife Tonya, daughter Janet Elrod, grandchildren Trey Harris, Jana Elrod, Dewayne Elrod II, Tiffany Taylor, Tye Harris, Great-grandchildren Tyler Harris, Abigail Taylor, Devin Elrod, Shayla Elrod, and Cayden Elrod.
Sandra Kay graduated from Odessa High School. She married her husband Tommy on July 17, 1953 in Lovington, New Mexico. She worked as an admitting clerk for Medical Center Hospital for 19 years. As a young mother raising her family, she served the Lord faithfully, being a teacher for the young children's class at Friendship Baptist Church, at the same time serving as the church's pianist and heading up Vacation Bible School for many years.
Sandra Kay was and is a faithful lifetime servant of our Lord and Savior. She loved people and always wanted the best for everyone, even people she didn't even know. She is a truly humble and giving soul. She is a true peacemaker. She will be truly missed by many and truly loved by many.
