Sandra Murry

February 23, 1950 — April 23, 2017

Sandra Jarrett Murry went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at home surround by her family at 67 years-of-age in Odessa, Texas, Sunday, April 23, 2017. She fought a courageous, faith-filled battle with pancreatic cancer and received her miracle of eternal life in Heaven with her Savior.

Sandra was born the second of three daughters on February 23, 1950 in Lamesa, TX to Artie Lee and David Ray Jarrett. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1968. Sandra fell in love with Garry Don Murry of Odessa, and they married on January 28, 1968 in El Paso, TX, recently celebrating their 49th wedding anniversary. Together they raised a son, Bryan and a daughter Tonya.

Sandra was a beautiful person on the inside and out. Her greatest joy was her faith and her family. Above all else, Sandra loved God faithfully and passionately. She enjoyed nothing more than praising her Father in Heaven, and continued to do so right to the end. She made sure we knew that her hope was in Christ alone and it was well with her soul. She had a very real relationship with her savior, Jesus Christ, and her desire was to see others have that same assurance. She was a faithful servant in the church and in the community, and will be remembered as a prayer warrior. She was a dedicated mother, a strong and devoted wife, a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and a great friend to all who knew her. She lovingly served her family at home. She had a special bond with each grandchild. Her favorite role in this life was grandmother, and her six grandchildren will forever remember their "Mammy" and her ability to make everything better, always pointing them to God. She loved to sing and to tell her grandkids stories as she showered each of them with love and laughter. All of her kid's friends call her Mammy as well. Sandra never missed a special function or game. You could always hear her cheering saying, "That's my grandson or granddaughter!" She was very generous, and she never hesitated to help someone in need. Those who knew her will never forget her loving smile, her contagious laughter, and her loving hugs.

Sandra is survived by husband, Garry Don Murry of Odessa, TX, mother, Artie Lee Jarrett of Odessa, TX, son, Bryan Murry and wife Amy of Midland, TX, Daughter, Tonya Coke and husband Ty Coke of Odessa, TX, Sister, Terrie Conklin and husband Kevin of Midland, TX, Brother-in-Law, Harley McCorle and wife Sue of Gonzales, TX; grandchildren, Bryson Daniel Murry (21), Brock Christian Murry (19), Britton Jarrett Murry (16), Lyndi Elizabeth Duty (9), Blakely Dawn Coke (5), and Landry Kate Coke (2); nieces and nephews, Misty Conklin, Tifinie Horn and husband Brandon, Kevin Conklin and wife Kristi, and Scott Pyeatt and wife Rhonda; great nieces and nephews, Breia Conklin, Gunner Conklin, Jarrett Conklin, Jaelynn Horn, Klayton Conklin, and Kensie Conklin; Cousin, Brenda Reed and husband Tom.
