Sandra Elaine Proctor, 64, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2009 in Odessa.
She was born December 21, 1944 in Burnett, Texas to Granville Andrew Green and Lyda Mae Alderson Green and married William R. Proctor.
Sandra was raised as an Odessa native. She attended elementary and high school in Odessa schools. She was a majorette at Permian High School and was a contestant in the Miss West Texas pageant in 1964.
Her family has always been her top priority. Even though most of her immediate family did not live in Odessa, she made it to every special event, big or small, that she could travel to. She loved her children and enthusiastically doted on all three grandchildren. And, her excitement for the upcoming fourth grandchild could hardly be contained. She always made plans for family get-togethers because she wanted to be surrounded by those she held dear. Sandra and Bill spent all of their time together, whether at the office or at home. They spent over 44 wonderful years as husband and wife.
She had a soft spot for animals and would ultimately take in any poor stray that found it's way to her. She understood the need to help unwanted cats and often contributed the PAWS Cat Rescue Haven House.
Sandra enjoyed playing golf with her friends. She and Bill had many entertaining good times with some of their closest friends on their annual 'couples' golf weekends. Even on their own, Sandra truly enjoyed her golf vacations with Bill. She loved to talk about the trip to Hawaii and how stunning the island was. She also traveled to other beautiful destinations like the PGA Championships in Sahalee, WA. They played golf at Pebble Beach, Hilton Head, Acapulco and the Virgin Islands and appreciated the amazing surroundings.
Sandra made an impact in all the lives she touched. She loved to hear stories and you could always count on her to give you an honest opinion if asked. She was considerate and generous. She had a bit of stubborn streak, but it made her unique and to all that knew her, it was just Sandra. People enjoyed her company and she enjoyed being with them. She was a very special lady and will always be cherished for her tenderhearted and caring nature.
She is survived by her mother Lyda Green, her husband, William R. Proctor of Odessa; her children, Michael Ray Proctor and wife Julie of Odessa, Matthew Todd Proctor and wife Tammy of Bullard, Texas; Grandchildren, Lane Andrew Proctor and Samantha Bryan Proctor of Bullard, Texas, Hunter Jeffery Gideon and Michael Ray Proctor to make his debut in November of Odessa; Brothers, G.A. Green and Jerry Green, both of Mansfield, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be directed to PAWS Cat Rescue Haven House, 401 East 61st Street, Odessa, Texas 79762, phone 432 366-1030.
