Scott Baggett, age 60, went to Heaven on March 2, 2017.
Born a natural salesman, Scott had a way with people and a knack for closing the deal. Scott was born on August 9, 1956 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He grew up in Brownfield, graduating from Brownfield High School. Scott began his professional sales career with Safeway Grocery Store in Lubbock, serving as Manager. In the mid-1980's, Scott moved to Midland, where he began his career in the women's shoe business, eventually managing Matney Shoe Box in Midland. His career with Matney Shoe Box spanned for seven years, until he opened his own store in Odessa, Scott's Shoes, which has served customers for more than 19 years. Through that time, Scott served an array of customers with just the perfect "fit and style". Scott was hard-working, loved his customers and was devoted to his line of work.
Scott is survived by his mother, Glenda Baggett of Odessa and her late husband, James Cranfill and father, M.L. "LaDon" Baggett of Lubbock and his wife, Peggy; brothers, Larry Baggett of Odessa and Rick Baggett and his wife, Tammy, of Keller, along with five nieces and four great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his aunt and uncles, Frances Goodwin, and Tommy & Barbara Henderson, all of Odessa, Saundra Henderson Temple & Bob Temple of Arlington, and Mike & Becky Henderson of Hahnville, Louisiana. Scott also had numerous cousins and special friends who were like family. His work companion, Sally Martinez, worked at Scott's Shoes for eight years. Scott had several lifelong friends from his childhood that were like brothers to him.
Scott loved his family, his devoted customers and the many shoe vendors that he worked with for decades. He loved serving his customers and making them happy. He had nick-names for those special people in his life. He loved to tease people and he enjoyed the many family gatherings.
