Sean Thomas Kelly, age 58, of Grand Prairie, TX, passed away on October 4, 2014 at Baylor Medical in Plano, TX.
Sean Thomas Kelly, born September 22, 1956 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Flora June Sullivan and Phillip Thomas Kelly, moved to Odessa as a young man. While growing up he played the drums in the Crockett Junior High band and was a percussionist in the Permian High School Marching Band. Sean played in several bands in West Texas: Wheatstraw, Jade, The Marbles and Research. He started at UT Austin on a full scholarship for the drums and returned to West Texas when his mother fell ill. His first jobs were at The Music Store of Texas and the Picking Parlor. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Odessa College with an electrical engineering degree, he began his career at Comlogic. While he was playing in Wheatstraw and living in Odessa, Sean met Gale Ares and they married May 17, 1980. Their beautiful daughter Alison was born March 4, 1982 and was the highlight of her dads life. After Comlogic he relocated to Fina, where he worked all over the world before moving to DallasFort Worth in 1995. On October 4, 2000 he started working for Microsoft and continued there until his passing. His lifelong passions were technology, music andmost of allhis family. Seans paternal grandfather was a renowned concert pianist in Boston. One of his favorite pastimes was to jam with the Hydros at Soggy Bottom.
He is survived by his wife Gale, daughter Alison, soninlaw Adam and their son, his pride and joy Elliotthis Little Dude. He will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens where his mother and father are buried.
Sean and Terry Pate aspired to record for musicians who could not afford it and he wanted to work with Music for Children. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.

Graveside services to be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 6801 E. Business 20 at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 7, 2014.
