Selso Subia

Selso Montes Subia, 78, of Midland, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013 in Midland, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Brother Manuel Luna of the UPC officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Arraignments are by Sunset Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.

Selso Montes Subia was born in Big Lake, Texas to Felipe and Martina Subia on June 28, 1934. He went to school in Big Lake, Texas. He married his latest Love of his life wife, Dorothy Jane Subia, on September 2, 1974 in Juarez, Mexico. He worked as Truck Driver, Iron Worker, Rigger and as a Crane Operator, operating any Conventional to Hydraulic Cranes and of any size, from Cherry Picker to a series 2 Manitowoc. Never turned over a Crane or hurt any person while operating the Equipment. Then held the position of General Rigging Forman over all the equipment, rigging and lifts of any vessels or structures at various sites. Worked for Marks Crane Rigging, Ortloft Corporation, KCI Constructors, RefChem Corporation and NIC Constructors. He received various Safety awards, for no injuries or no lost time.

Selso M. Subia was preceded in death by his father, Felipe Subia mother, Martina Montes Subia wife, Dorothy Jane Subia daughter, Consuelo Subia Salmeron sisters, Flavia LaLa Aguero, and Nora Ortiz brothers, Felipe Subia Jr., and Juan Subia grandson, Selso Subia III and great grandson, Nicholas Fowler.

Selso is survived by his daughters, Patricia Estes, Alicia Sais David, and Silvia Subia sons, Selso Subia Jr., Gabriel Subia Blanca, Rudy Subia Carol, Steve Subia Lorenza, and Daniel Subia Stephanie 28 grandchildren and 18 greatgrandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Gabriel Subia Jr., Bobby Subia, Joseph D. Subia, Christopher M. Subia, Angelo Subia, Jessie Subia and Nicholas Subia.

Memorials may be given to the UPC, at 3111 W. County Rd. 116, Midland, Texas 79706.
