Shana Dubose

Shana Michele Dubose, of Odessa, gained her angel wings on January 5th, 2018.

Visitation will be held at 5pm on Monday, January 8th at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, January 9th at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Bro. Clydel Chapman of Northside Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow immediately after service.

Shana was born in Hobbs, NM to Bill and Patsy Dubose on April 6, 1968. At one year old, Shana was diagnosed with epilepsy, mental retardation, and cerebral palsy. She lived happily at home with her parents throughout her life. During her school days, Shana was involved in Special Olympics - bowling and wheelchair racing. She loved Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, babies, baby dolls, stuffed animals, Cheetos, Rosa's enchiladas, and Coca-Cola. Shana was our rainbow, a blessing from above. Through the tough times, the adversity and challenges, she shone through with a special light, reminding us how special life really is.

Shana is preceded in death by her mother, Patsy Dubose; grandparents, W.W. "Bill" and Juanita Dubose and Pat and Nelda Bills; great uncle, D.R. "Tedo" Page; and her nephew, Mason Brownlow.

Shana is survived by her father, Bill Dubose of Odessa; her sister and partner, Lori Brownlow and Brandon Howle of Odessa; her brother and sister in law, Billy Jr & Becky Dubose of Odessa; family friends, Trent & Melissa Yates of Odessa; great aunt, Daisy Page and great cousin, Linda Page of Coleman; nieces and nephews, Aaron & Lauren Woody of Houston, Dustin & Tisha Dubose of Odessa, and Daniel & Kayley Howard of Odessa; great nieces and nephews, Brody Dubose, Ryan Dubose, Daxx Howard and Cora Woody; and several devoted caretakers.

Pallbearers will be Billy Dubose Jr., Trent Yates, Daniel Howard, Dustin Dubose, Brandon Howle, and Weldon Butler.

Memorials may be given to ECISD Special Olympics.

The family of Shana wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to her loving caretakers - Sybil Golden, Christy McGuirre, Virginia Holmes, Lorre Whitley, Michelle Warren, and Mary Corbett. You played a huge part in Shana's life - not only as her caretaker but as her friend. It takes a special person to put their own lives on hold so they can do everything possible to care for another's loved one. Your time, dedication, and companionship gave Shana the most fulfilling life. To us, you are family and we are forever grateful to you.
