Shannon Simpson

Shannon Marie Simpson, age 61, formally of Odessa, passed away peacefully Tuesday July 19, 2011 in Dallas, from her battle with cancer.

Shannon was born November 6, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois to Thomas OReilly and Rita Bloake OReilly. She received her diploma from Permian High School and attended Odessa College before getting her degree from Texas Tech University. She spent most of her days working for M.I. Drilling Fluids before retiring from TXDOT in Odessa. She was also an avid member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for many years.

Shannon enjoyed spending time with her friends and family especially attending her grandson Tripps sporting events and reading to her granddaughter Haley.

Shannons passions included her dogs, Diet Coke, cooking and she was most definitely a connoisseur of reality T.V.

Shannon will be greatly missed by all the lives that she touched and her family feels comforted knowing that she is an angel watching over and protecting them.

Shannon was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother David OReilly.

Shannon is survived by her two sons, Justin Simpson of Euless, Texas and Shane Simpson of Fort Worth, Texas and daughter, Shelby Simpson of Mansfield, Texas her grandchildren, Tripp Simpson and Haley Smith her brothers, Tom OReilly and wife Michelle and Timothy OReilly and wife Missy, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be 68 PM Friday, July 22, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, with Larry Hood officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
