Sharon Ash

Sharon Kay Sims-Ash, 79, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on May 12, 2021, in Houston at MD Anderson after a battle with cancer.

Sharon was born March 16, 1942, to Delbert and Lucille Sims in Borger, Tx. At the age of 15, her family moved to Odessa, Tx. She was a proud member of the class of 1960, the first graduating class at Permian Highschool. She Married Jimmy Ash on July 7, 1962; they celebrated 58 years of Marriage. Sharon retired after 20 years of service in the Physical Therapy Department at Medical Center Hospital.

Sharon lived life to the fullest, camping, watching the Texas Rangers, and spending many a fun night gambling in the casino. Sharon was known for her wit, sass, and infinite wisdom. She was a creative soul who loved sewing and quilting, making beautiful gifts for her friends and family. Sharon was passionate about teaching those in her family how to sew and quilt.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Lucielle Sims, and husband Jimmy Ash.

Sharon was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, nana, and friend! She is survived by her brothers Max Sims and wife Darlene of Monte Vista, CO. Danny Sims, and wife Melwyn of Odessa Tx. Her sons, Mark Ash and wife Sherri, Greg Ash and wife Robbie, all of Odessa, Tx. Her daughters, Kim Lewis, and husband Buster of Fruitvale, Tx. Kristin Campbell and husband David of Terell, Tx. Grandchildren - Amber, Alyssa, Ka'Leah, Michael, Scott, Shawna, Kristina, Stepanie, Chaz, Jimmy Lance, April, Ashlie, David, Collin, and Jason. Great-grandchildren- Kelsey, Kaitlyn, Jameson, Sydney, Kori, Easton, Carter, Austin, Apollo, Aiden Jaxon, Jayden, Jonah, Jake, and Jeremiah. Great-great-grandson, Jace, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
