Sharon Courtney

December 15, 1959 — September 4, 2017

Sharon Ann Courtney, 57, of Midland, TX, went to be with our Lord on Monday, September 4, 2017.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm, Friday, September 8, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clydel Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Sharon was born on December 15, 1959 to Fain and Frances Giles in Portland, Oregon. Shortly after her birth, her parents moved to West Texas. Sharon was a bright light to anyone who had the good fortune to know her. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1977, she also married Danny Ellis on May 20, 1977. Sharon gave birth to Miranda Rae Ellis (The Apple of Her Eye) on July 24, 1982. Danny and Her divorced in 1987.
Sharon went to work for the Todd Law Firm. In 1989, Sharon went to work for Jim Bobo Attorney At Law. In 1991, Jim Bobo was elected to County Judge and Sharon moved to the Ector County Court House where she was his Court Coordinator.
Sharon loved her family, her friends and her flowers.
On April 30, 1992, Sharon married Michael Courtney and they resided in Odessa, TX and attended First Baptist Church. In 2008 Sharon was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and the battle began. In 2010, Sharon and Michael moved to Midland, TX. On February 23, 2013, Sharon opted to retire from her position as Court Coordinator at Ector County Court of Law where she was loved by all.
After nine hard fought years the cancer took her life on September 4, 2017. Sharon is now in Heaven with no more pain, but will live forever in the hearts and memories of her friends and family.
Sharon is survived by her mother Frances Pollinger; her husband Michael Courtney; daughter Miranda Blaschke and her husband Charles; stepdaughters Michelle Allen and her husband Jorry Don and Mindy Courtney; stepsons Michael Courtney and his wife Stephanie and Matthew Courtney; grandchildren Camille Creamer, Chelsea Montgomery, Ashlea Humphrieys, Courtney Gragson, Cody Creamer, Dustin Courtney, Slade Allen, William Blaschke; sisters Nita Cranfill and her husband Jerome, Glenda Peters and her husband Drew and Anna Parker and her husband Michael; nieces and nephews Madison Parker, Olivia Peters, Josh Cranfill and Caleb Cranfill; her best friends Karen Freeman, Nancy Halfacre, Kayla Zeigenbein, Brenda Ashley, Jeanie Bartley, Alisa Goats, Becky Wilson, Bennie Bledsoe and Susan Parker.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Turner, Keith Little, Jimmy Goats, David Adams, Bob Bledsoe, Phil Parker and Judge Jim Bobo
Our thanks go out to all the kind folks at Midland Hospice. And last but not least, our thank you to Dr. Nathan Fowler and Haleigh Mistry at MD Anderson for their unwavering kindness and care.
