Sharon Eugenia Flowers Jenkins June 26, 1940 - August 10, 2024

Sharon Eugenia Flowers Jenkins, affectionately known as “Grandma”, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on June 26, 1940, in Centralia Illinois, Sharon touched the lives of many with her kindness, devotion, and unwavering faith.

Sharon was a proud 1958 graduate of Odessa High School. Shortly after, on December 30, 1958, she married the love of her life, Clinton Jenkins. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Sharon dedicated 25 years of her professional life as a bookkeeper and office manager for JCPenney, where she was known for her diligence and commitment.

A woman of deep faith, Sharon was an active and devoted member of Kingston Avenue Baptist Church for 64 years. She served the Lord with all her heart through various ministries, including the children’s ministry, Vacation Bible School, mission trips, and the hospitality committee. Her love for her church and community was evident in all she did, and she found great joy in sharing her faith with others.

Sharon was also a talented cook who delighted in preparing holiday meals for her family. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like playing cards and board games with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever. Sharon was a selfless wife, mom and grandma who loved her family unconditionally.

Sharon is preceded in death by her father, James Flowers; her mother, Ruby Flowers; and her sisters, Jamie Flowers and Peggy Hooper. She is survived by her devoted husband, Clinton Jenkins; her sons, Jim Jenkins and Jay Jenkins (and wife DeAnn Jenkins); her daughters, Janette Briscoe and Jennifer Jones (and husband Stacy Jones). She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Britt Briscoe (and wife Amanda Briscoe), Casey Wells (and husband Ben Wells), Tyler Jenkins (and wife Stacia Jenkins), Lauren Webb (and husband Brandon Webb), Cason Jenkins, Jace Jenkins, Jordan Jones and Cameron Jones; and her precious great-grandchildren, Jessie Briscoe, Lexi Briscoe, Abner Wells, Ellory Wells, Lynleigh Jenkins, Avrie Jenkins, and Mya Webb.
