Shelbie Cherry

Shelbie Jean (Siddens) Cherry, 78, of Odessa went to be with the Lord on July 29, 2016.

She was born in Red River County in East Texas on January 30, 1938 to Joseph and Katie Siddens. She was raised in Odessa, where she graduated from Odessa High School in 1956. She was active in school activities and played on the tennis team. She was also very active in her sons schools.

Visitation will be held from 7:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Reverend Robert L. Bratcher, officiating.

Jean was preceded in death by her father and mother.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Cherry, sons Michael Cherry and his wife Wilma of Humble, Greg Cherry of Odessa, grandchildren Kristen Cherry and Joseph Cherry, sister Jan Cherry of Clinton, MS, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the American Heart Association can be made in Shelbie's name.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
