Sherry Lavon (Strahan) Jones, age 83, of Odessa, TX, passed away on May 2, 2017 in Odessa.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bob Bratcher of Mission Dorado Baptist Church officiating.
Sherry was born February 12, 1934 to Bill and Jewel Kirk in Paducah, TX. She graduated from Paducah High School in 1951, where she was a Drum Major, Homecoming Queen and Most Beautiful for 2 years.
Sherry married Bobby Carlton Strahan on February 4, 1955 in Waco, TX. He passed away on April 30, 1977. On September 5, 1986 Sherry married Raymond Byron Jones in Kauai, Hawaii. She was a housewife and belonged to many different organizations over the years, but her main passion, outside her family, was Genealogy.
Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Jewel Kirk, her first husband, Bob Strahan, her brother Bill Kirk, her sisters Ann Simmons and Jackey Wygal and her stepson Johnny Jones.
She is survived by her husband, Ray Jones, son, Bobby Carlton Strahan, Jr. and his wife Holly, daughter, Judy Elizabeth Cary and her husband, Mike, son, Steven Kirk Strahan and his wife, Lisa, stepdaughter Renee Marie O'Mara; grandchildren, Marcey Love and her husband, Todd, Steven Strahan and his wife Michelle, Jeff Strahan and his wife, Tasha, Ashley Cary, Paige Strahan, Austin Strahan and Riley, Ethelle and Eoin O'Mara; great grandchildren, Jonathon, Jacob, Madison, Steven, Raylee, Waylon and Caroline as well as many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
Honorary pallbearers are Steven Strahan, Jeff Strahan, Austin Strahan, Wayne Musick, Bat Brunner and Todd Love.
