Sherry Williams, 50, of Odessa, passed away Friday, February 11, 2011, at Odessa Medical Center.
She was born in Odessa on July 13, 1960. She graduated from Permian High School, and later in life attended and graduated from Paris Junior College.
Sherry accomplished a great many things in her life. She owned two businesses, Tugboats Oilfield Mechanic Shop in Carlsbad, New Mexico, and The Country Corner Restaurant and Grocery Store in Bogata, Texas. She moved back to Odessa in 2005 and worked at various jobs in the oil industry, including a long stint at Kojo, in their parts department.
Attending and cooking at chili cookoffs, helping at biker rallies, and taking on strays, both animal and human, were her greatest passions. Those she has left behind will remember her for her bubbly personality, warm heart, and willingness to help others regardless of personal cost.
Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Pearce. She is survived by her son, Jason Thomas, her mother, Geneva Pearce, her brother Gary Pearce, her nephew Travis and Charlie Pearce, her grandmother Jewel Connell, and a number of other aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 from 57 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in the Sunset Chapel. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 1:00 PM and will be officiated by Jimmy Braswell.
