Shirley Dean Emerick, 70 years old, of Odessa, passed away on November 17, 2013.
Visitation will be Thursday, 6pm to 8pm at Sunset Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be 2:00PM, Friday, at Sunset Set Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clydel Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Shirley Dean Emerick was born October 10, 1943 in Dennison, TX to the late Glen and Katie Pike Foster. She was raised in Odessa since 1951 and graduated from Odessa High School in 1961. Shirley married Willis Emerick in Odessa on January 13, 1962.
Shirley worked for the Odessa Police Department, working as a dispatcher until her retirement. She then went to work at UTPB, working also as a dispatcher for another 5 years. Shirley enjoyed playing the piano, loved Elvis and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She always looked forward to spending time with her wonderful friends.
Shirley is also preceded in death by a sister, Neva and a brotherinlaw, Joe Eaton.
Survivors include sons Randy Emerick and wife Miriam of Odessa and Kevin Emerick and wife Stacy of Louisville, KY, daughter Seree Duginski and husband Robert of Odessa, 6 grandchildren and 1 greatgrandson.
Services are under the care of Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. Condolences may be made online at sunsetodessa.com.
