Shirley Turner

Shirley Kay Turner, 59, went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 12, 2009 in Odessa.

She was born April 7, 1950 in Roscoe, Texas to James Freeman Gortney and Otis Irene Beville Gortney. She was raised and educated in Odessa, Texas. She married Gene Turner April 24, 1978 in Odessa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother James Gortney and her son Brian Allen.

Survivors include her husband, Gene Turner of Odessa; her daughter, Kristy New and husband Rick of Odessa; sons, Geoffrey Turner, Micah Turner and wife Misty of Odessa; grandchildren, Brandy New, Matt New, Scottie Turner, and Marah Turner, all of Odessa; great grandchild, due in May of 2010; sisters, Judy Owen of Katy, Texas; Doris Jordan of Kingsland, Texas, and Billie Brooks of Palm Springs, California; brothers, Jerry Gortney of Sweetwater, Texas and Guy Gortney of Kingsland, Texas.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with James Bishop officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
