Simona Mancha

Simona M. Mancha, age 84, of Odessa, passed away Friday, December 30, 2011 in Odessa.

She was born January 18, 1927 in Lajitas, Texas to Ramon Gonzalez Molinar and Carolina Pineda Molinar and was married to Manuel B. Mancha.

She is preceded in death by her father Ramon Tavarez Molinar, mother Carolina Pineda Molinar, brothers Juan and Ramon MolinarAlpine, and sisters Juanita Molinar and Maria Fe Benavidez.

Survivors include brothers Florencio Molinar of Ft. Stockton, TX and Faustino Molinar of Alpine, TX sisters Albina Molinar, Flora Manuel Ybarra, Socorro Villa, Victoria Holquin all of Alpine, TX Josephina Carrasco of Odessa, TX and Theresa Jimmy Gonzalez of El Paso, TX. Simona is also survived by her loving husband Manuel B. Mancha. They were married on May 25, 1953 and enjoyed their marriage together for 58 years. Simona is also survived by her children Jose and Sonia Mancha of Kermit, TX Luis and Sarah Mancha of Highland Village, TX Francisco and Gloria Mancha of Odessa, TX Rosa Cortez of Lewisville, TX Julian and JoAnn Mancha of Odessa, TX Gabriel and Cristina Mancha of Odessa, TX and Olivia Mancha of Odessa, TX. Simona is survived by 16 grandchildren, 22 greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Moms greatest love was her family. She devoted her life to taking care of her husband and raising her children. She had a passion for helping others in need whether it was sewing, or making wedding cakes and flowers.

The family would like to thank Hospice House, the staff and the nurses that came to take care of Mom in her last days. Thank you to Dr. Annie Acreman, Dr. Larry Oliver and the staff at Desert Milagro Dialysis Center.

Visitation with the family will be 67 PM Monday, January 2, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home. Rosary will follow at 7:00 PM Monday at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Services are scheduled for 10:30 AM Tuesday, January 3, 2011 at St. Josephs Catholic Church with Father Serefino officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hospice House of Odessa.
