Sondra Bryant

November 14, 1938 — March 9, 2008

Our loving mother, Sondra June Nenaw Bryant went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2008. She was born on November 14, 1938 in Monahans, Texas to Gus and Rita Bryant. She is survived by her mother, Rita Bryant, her bother and his wife, Sam and Lijuana Bryant, her children, Rita Lynne Kramer of Greenwood and Bryan David Kramer and his wife Colette of Odessa. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, William David, Cassondra Elizabeth, and Reagan Lynne. She is also survived by her niece, Kathy Jeffers and family, nephew Alan Bryant and family, several aunts and uncles, and numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her father Gus Bryant.

Although her family moved several times during her childhood, she considered Wickett and Monahans her hometowns. Sondra graduated from Monahans High School in 1957 and went on to attend Texas Tech University. After college she married and gave birth to Lynne in 1961 and Bryan in 1964. She initially was a bookkeeper at an accounting firm. As her career continued she gain more education and experience which eventually lead to owning her own business. After 30 years in the corporate world, she changed career paths dramatically and attended nursing school. After hard work and nights classes she graduated from Odessa College in 1994 with an Associates Degree in Nursing. She worked as a full time RN until 2004. She continued to work part time as a nurse until her death. She was an instructor for the American Heart Association and was credentialed as a certified Medical Surgical Nurse. She had a great rapport with her patients. She had the ability to find something in common with her patients. If a patient wanted something to read, Mom would subtle discover that persons interests. She would go home that morning, find something in her extensive library, and take it back to work that night.

Sondra was an active member of Mensa and Intertel. Although she did not formally belong to clubs or organizations, she enjoyed several activities. She enjoyed target shooting with her pistol and was an excellent marksman. She loved animals and was known for providing a home for strays and orphaned animals of all kinds. She even raised a lost newborn baby goat with a bottle in her laundry room. As a family we took many weekend dirt bike rides, usually to Presidio or Sheffield. One of the favorite things to do was to scour back roads for old places to explore and Mother especially enjoyed the old cemeteries.
PSondra is most remembered by Lynne and Bryans friends as Mom. She was a second mother to so many people and she was loved as if she was their own mother. Just to name a few of the kids that she was Mom to Colleen and Colette Keith, David Cloud, Craig and Sharon Trout, Kim Gray, Rene Quiroz, Rhonda Lewis, Tammy, Kim and Bill Miller, Larissa Allen, Allen Roberts, Jeff Tatum, DelYnda Wadsworth and many others that would take hours to list. All Lynne and Bryans friends would always say your mom is so cool. I wish my mom was as cool as yours. The reason for this for this was the level of involvement in Lynne and Bryans lives. Although she was a single mother, she never missed an orchestra concert or a football game. She found the time to be a scout leader for both kids. She served as chaperone for many theater group trips and host for many high school parties in our home.SPAN style
